The annual growth target of logistics industry is about 8% in 2020
China's logistics industry has entered a new stage of transformation and upgrading. The state council, China's cabinet, has said it will focus on reducing logistics costs and breaking barriers and regional blockages. The goal is to increase the added value of the logistics industry by about 8 percent annually by 2020, with the added value of the logistics industry accounting for about 7.5 percent of the gross domestic product.
According to the full text of China's medium - and long-term development plan for logistics industry (2014-2020) published on the website of the Chinese government, a modern logistics service system with reasonable layout, advanced technology, convenient and efficient, green and environmental-friendly, and safe and orderly shall be basically completed by 2020. The ratio of total logistics expenses of the whole society to the gross domestic product (GDP) will be reduced to about 16% from 18% in 2013.
"" breaking down the block division and regional blockade, reducing administrative intervention, cleaning up and abolishing various regulations and practices that hinder the national unified market and fair competition, and establishing a unified, open and orderly national logistics service market," "the plan said.
According to the plan, it is necessary to comprehensively promote the construction of non-parking charging systems for major highways across the country, rationally plan the logistics infrastructure, and improve the layout of comprehensive transportation channels and transportation junction nodes.
At the same time, it is necessary to further strengthen the construction of logistics informatization and strengthen the application of advanced information technologies such as beidou navigation, Internet of things, cloud computing, big data and mobile Internet in the field of logistics.
"We will speed up the development of key logistics areas and logistics channels linking China and the world, with a focus on building strategic logistics hubs for central, south and west Asia, land and sea transport, river and sea transport nodes and major airports for asean," the state council said.
In addition, a number of large integrated logistics enterprise groups and logistics service brands with international competitiveness should be formed to reverse the development pattern of "small, scattered and weak".
The state council also put forward 12 key projects, including agricultural product logistics, manufacturing logistics and supply chain management, and recycling logistics of renewable resources.
The overall level of development of China's logistics industry is still not high, and the development mode is relatively extensive. In particular, logistics cost is high and efficiency is low. In 2013, the ratio of total social logistics cost to GDP reached as high as 18%, which is about one times higher than that of developed countries and significantly higher than that of developing countries such as Brazil and India.
In 2013, China's total social logistics reached 197.8 trillion yuan (6.1353,-0.0032,-0.05%), an increase of 3.1 times over 2005. The added value of the logistics industry reached 3.9 trillion yuan in 2013, an increase of 2.2 times over that of 2005, with an average annual growth of 11.1%. The proportion of the added value of the logistics industry in the GDP increased from 6.6% in 2005 to 6.8% in 2013, and the proportion of the added value of the service industry reached 14.8%.
At the same time, employment in the logistics industry has increased rapidly, with the number of employees increasing from 17.8 million in 2005 to 28.9 million in 2013, an average annual growth rate of 6.2 percent.
